TradeWell Desk Morning Note — August 31, 2026

The TradeWell Desk crosses independent overnight bots — filings, sector tape, insiders, earnings calendar, and sentiment — and only elevates a name when two or more independent sources confirm the same directional signal. Today’s note is a dry-run desk print: zero HIGH conviction signals. No multi-source buy confirms, no insider buy cluster, and no new earnings in the August 30–September 3 window. Everything below is watch only.

Not investment advice. TradeWell is research software. This note does not recommend buying or selling any security, does not guarantee performance, and does not claim any name “will go up.” TW Quant Score rankings and prediction artifacts were absent from today’s desk inputs (rankings.json not present); this note does not invent ranks, predicted moves, or options overlays.

Week ahead (facts from the desk calendar)

Medium watch items (4) — not buys, not clusters

The desk tagged eight medium items overnight. Below are four with the clearest calendar or filing overlays. Action on every name: watch only. None met the HIGH bar (2+ independent bots confirming the same direction).

1. NVDA — 10-Q AI-infra print + Phase 2 tariff overlay

Filings support: NVIDIA’s Q2 FY2027 10-Q (quarter ended July 26, 2026) reported revenue $96,221 million, Data Center $89,023 million (+106% YoY), gross margin 75.0%, net income $59,688 million, and supply/capacity commitments $279 billion versus $119 billion last quarter. Q2 buyback: 94 million shares / $19.7 billion; remaining authorization $99.3 billion as of July 26, 2026. Customer-concentration flags remain (one direct customer 16% of Q2 total revenue). The accompanying 8-K is a routine earnings furnish (Items 2.02/9.01).

Sector overlay: Politico (August 27, 2026) reports Phase 2 semiconductor-tariff deliberations that would extend duties to servers that fill data centers; January data-center exemptions may not carry over; the framework “could still be substantially revised”; nothing is signed. Mixed direction across Filings and Sector keeps this below HIGH.

2. RKLB — SpaceX FCC/Iridium letter + Electron Sep 1 + 10b5-1 sells

SpaceX filed a three-page FCC letter dated August 27, 2026 on the Rocket Lab / Iridium transaction; “SpaceX does not oppose the transaction,” while flagging spectrum bands 19.4–19.6 GHz and 29.1–29.3 GHz. Friday tape had RKLB −6% to $63.82; shareholder vote is September 24, 2026. Electron “Owl Around The World” is listed Go For Launch for Tuesday, September 1.

In-window Form 4s are sell-side under 10b5-1 / sell-to-cover (Klein COO aggregate notional ≈ $2.37 million on August 27 plan sales). There is no insider buy cluster (zero code-P buys). Automatic selling is not launch-cadence evidence; the FCC letter is not an 8-K. Watch only.

3. XOM — Hormuz-reopening oil tape + XTO note-redemption 8-K

Iran International (August 29, citing WSJ) reported oil fell a third consecutive session after Iran and Oman discussed arrangements that could temporarily restore more shipping through Hormuz. Brent Oct −2.5% to $86.38; WTI −2.2% to $80.53 in early U.S. trading. OPEC+’s 188 kb/d September adjustment was decided August 2; implementation month begins September 1; next ministerial September 6.

ExxonMobil 8-K dated August 28, Item 8.01 — XTO Energy Inc. redemption notices for notes due 2036/2037/2038; redemption date September 27, 2026. Liability management, not OPEC-sensitivity confirmation. The 8-K does not confirm the Hormuz/OPEC tape. Watch only.

4. AAPL — Ternus CEO effective Sep 1; Phase 2 finished-goods tariff talk

John Ternus becomes Apple CEO on Tuesday, September 1, 2026; Tim Cook becomes executive chairman (Apple Newsroom, April 20, 2026 — effective date this week, not a new overnight announcement). Forbes (updated August 27) places Apple’s September special-event keynote for Wednesday, September 9, 10:00 PT / 13:00 ET. Politico Phase 2 deliberations would hit finished goods that use chips; nothing signed. Form 4 Newstead is below the desk size filter — not a second independent signal. Watch only.
